Since its founding, Springboard to Success has become a cornerstone of support for CHA residents, helping countless young people break the cycle of poverty and achieve their dreams.
2018
S2S introduced its Take Flight: Networking and Recruitment Event, designed as a winter break "check-in" for college students. This event provides resume development, professional headshots, and opportunities to network for summer internships, ensuring CHA youth are prepared for career
S2S extended its reach, partnering with additional institutions to offer quality summer programs designed specifically for CHA youth.
Recognizing the importance of supporting younger children, S2S also initiated programs to distribute books, backpacks, school supplies, and other resources to help students prepare for school.
2017
2016
S2S expanded its efforts by funding college readiness and exposure programs in partnership with DePaul University. This collaboration has given CHA youth opportunities to prepare for higher education, develop skills, and envision successful futures.
2015
S2S tackled the challenges CHA youth face in accessing higher education. The organization launched the S2S Scholarship Program, offering financial assistance to college-bound students, and the Take Flight College Reception, which has provided hundreds of CHA youth with dorm supplies, laptops, and the tools they need for a successful transition to college.
Springboard to Success (S2S) was established as the nonprofit affiliate of the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA). With a mission to empower CHA residents—particularly its youngest members—S2S funds programs and provides resources that bridge critical gaps in education, career readiness, and independence.
